Quick fixes
Manhunt used to be called Assassin, and your phone may still show the app under that name, in Settings too. If a step says Manhunt and you can't find it, look for Assassin.
Joining a game
The invite link opens Safari instead of the app
Make sure Manhunt is installed, then tap Open in Manhunt on the invite page. Or open the app, paste or type the 6-character code under Got a code?, then tap JOIN.
My code doesn’t work
Codes are 6 letters and numbers and never use 0, O, 1, I or L. They only work while the game is in its lobby or running, joining closes near the end of a game, and a lobby holds up to 50 players.
I can’t join because of location
Manhunt needs your location to play. Open Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services › Manhunt, choose While Using the App, and turn on Precise Location.
During a game
Tag claims don’t reach me when my phone is locked
Open Settings › Notifications › Manhunt and turn on Allow Notifications and Time Sensitive Notifications. Without them you only see claims with the app open, and a claim you don't answer in time can still count.
The Live Activity isn’t on my Lock Screen
Open Settings › Manhunt and turn on Live Activities. It starts when the game starts and shows your role, the clock, the next ping and your danger level.
My marker jumps around or I can’t open a crate
GPS is weaker indoors and between tall buildings. Step into the open for a moment. To open a crate, walk right up to it and wait for a good GPS fix.
I lost signal and got tagged
If the game goes too long without your location, it tags you automatically ("Went dark"). Ask your host straight away: they can undo it for a short while afterwards.
Someone claimed a tag that didn’t happen
Tap Dispute and the host decides. If the host doesn't rule in time, you stay free.

How do I keep my stats on a new phone?
Before you switch, open Profile and Sign in with Apple. On the new phone, sign in with the same Apple Account and your history comes with you.
Does it drain my battery?
Less than you’d think: the map stops drawing when your phone is locked, and location is only used during a game. Low Power Mode lowers how often your position is sent, and the lobby warns you when it’s on.
