Safety

Play it safe

Manhunt is played in the real world, at a run, sometimes in the dark. Every player agrees to these rules before their first game, and the host is responsible for picking a safe zone.

  • No roads or railways

Never run into or across traffic, and keep tracks, highways, parking lots and driveways out of the zone. No tag is worth a car.

  • No private property

Stay in public places you're allowed to be. No yards, fences, rooftops, construction sites or closed buildings.

  • Be visible at night

Wear something bright or reflective, carry a light, and pick a well-lit zone. Hiding in the dark is fine; running blind is not.

  • A tag is a touch

A tap on the shoulder or arm. Never grab, push, trip, tackle or chase anyone into danger. If it would hurt, it isn’t a tag.

  • Stay in the zone

The zone keeps everyone in an area the group agreed on. A target who leaves it shows up on every hunter’s map, and one who stays out too long counts as tagged and turns.

  • Play with people you know

Games are invite-only. Share your link with friends, not strangers, and leave any game that doesn’t feel right.

For hosts: picking the zone

  • Choose a park, campus or quiet blocks where everyone is allowed to be.
  • Keep busy roads, railways, water, cliffs and construction outside the line. The map shows the zone; it can't see hazards.
  • Tell everyone the boundary and a meeting point before you start.
  • If a crate lands somewhere unsafe or unreachable, delete it from the host panel and tell players to skip it. Crates vanish on their own after a few minutes anyway.
  • Keep an eye on the host panel: it flags players who seem to be in a vehicle or spoofing their location.

While you play

  • Never play from a car, bike, scooter or skateboard. Moving at vehicle speed gets you flagged to the host.
  • Watch where you're going, not your screen. The danger meter is a heartbeat so you can keep your eyes up.
  • Respect everyone who isn't playing. Give people space, keep the noise down, and don't hide in businesses.
  • Take a break any time: drink water, and stop if you're hurt or exhausted.
  • If anyone is hurt or in danger, stop the game and call your local emergency number (911 in the US). The host can end the game for everyone.

Your privacy in a game

  • Only players in your game see your location, and only what their role allows. Targets see hunters only briefly, with the Radar item.
  • Location is collected only while you're in a lobby or an active game, and deleted 7 days after the game ends.
  • You can leave a game at any time.

Report and block

Tap a player (map, lobby or results) to report or block them, or long-press a chat message to report it (name, avatar, chat, cheating or safety). Blocking hides their chat and avatar from you. Every report reaches a person, and players who break these rules can be banned. For anything urgent, email admin@zinance.app.

For parents

Manhunt is for players 13 and older. There's no public game list, no direct messages, and chat exists only inside a game. Names and chat are filtered for profanity. We recommend younger teens play in daylight, with friends they know, in a zone an adult has looked at. Questions? admin@zinance.app.
