About the game

What is the Manhunt app?

Manhunt (Manhunt.WTF, formerly Assassin) is a free app for playing real-life manhunt with friends on iPhone and Android. One random player starts as the hunter and everyone else is a target. Every target who gets tagged turns into a hunter, so the hunt grows until the clock runs out or nobody is left. It’s infection tag, played across a park, a campus or a few blocks.

Is Manhunt a hide and seek app?

It’s hide and seek crossed with tag. Targets hide and keep moving, hunters search and chase, and the app keeps everyone honest: pings show hunters where targets were, and a danger meter warns targets when a hunter is getting close.

What is manhunt?

Manhunt is a game of tag played over a big area, usually outdoors and often at dusk: one side hides and runs, the other side hunts them down. It mixes hide and seek with tag, and every neighborhood has its own house rules.

Is there an app for playing manhunt?

Yes. Manhunt is a free app for iPhone and Android, made for real-life games with friends. The host draws the zone on a map and shares an invite link, and the app runs the rest: it picks the first hunter, pings the hunters with where targets are hiding, warns targets with a danger meter and has every tag confirmed on the tagged player’s phone.

What is infection manhunt?

Infection manhunt is a version of manhunt where tagged players switch sides. One player starts as the hunter, and every target they tag becomes a hunter too, so the pack grows until nobody is left or time runs out. It’s also called zombie tag or build-up manhunt.

How do you play manhunt with friends on your phone?

Install Manhunt, host a game, draw the zone on the map and drop the invite link in your group chat. Friends tap the link and they’re in. Once the game starts, the app picks the first hunter, pings the hunters with where targets are hiding, and gives targets a danger meter that pulses as a hunter closes in. A tag is a real touch, confirmed on the tagged player’s phone.

How many people can play?

3–50 players per game. It’s at its best with 6 to 20 friends in a park, on a campus or around a few blocks.

How long does a game take?

As long as the host wants, from 15 to 90 minutes. Quick, Classic and Long presets cover the usual choices, and a rematch is one tap away.

Is it a good outdoor party game?

Yes. Everyone joins from one link, a round fits between other plans, and nobody sits out for long: tagged players come straight back as hunters. It works for birthdays, campus nights, team outings and any group with a park nearby.

Do my friends need an account?

No. They tap your invite link, type a name, add a selfie if they like, and they’re in the lobby. Sign in with Apple is optional and only keeps your stats across phones.

Do I have to keep the app open?

No. Pocket your phone and keep moving: the game keeps running, your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island show the clock and your danger level, and alerts reach you when a tag needs your answer.

Can you play manhunt at night?

Yes, if you plan for it. Pick a well-lit zone with no roads or water inside it, wear something bright, carry a light and play with people you know. The map stays bright and easy to read at any hour, and pings and the danger meter keep the game moving when you can’t see far.

Does Manhunt work on Android?

Yes. Get it on Google Play, where it’s listed as Manhunt Game: Assassin.WTF. iPhone and Android players join the same games.

Cost, privacy and safety

Is Manhunt free?

Yes. Manhunt is free to download and play, with no ads, subscriptions or in-app purchases. Coins and items are earned during a game and reset when it ends, so there’s nothing to buy.

Is my location shared?

Only with the players in your game, and only while you’re in a lobby or a game. Hunters see targets when a ping goes out, teammates see each other, and some items, host settings and leaving the zone reveal more. After the game, players can watch a replay of everyone’s paths. Location is deleted 7 days after the game ends, and it’s never sold or used for ads.

What age is Manhunt for?

Manhunt is for players 13 and older. Players under 18 need a parent or guardian to agree to the terms with them, and we recommend younger teens play in daylight, with friends they know, in a zone an adult has checked.

How do you keep manhunt safe?

Agree on a safe zone and stick to a few rules: no roads or railways, no private property, be visible at night, and a tag is a light touch, never a grab or a push. Every Manhunt player agrees to these before their first game, games are invite-only, and you can report or block any player.
